Last Updated: November 24, 2024

Welcome to Modern Internal. We value your privacy and strive to keep our policies clear, concise, and transparent. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and manage your personal data.

1. Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of Modern Internal products and services. It outlines how we collect, use, and protect personal data, as well as your rights regarding your information. By using our services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Data We Collect

Modern Internal collects personal data that you provide through our website and desktop application portal. This may include:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, and other relevant details provided during registration.
  • Payment Information: Processed securely through a third-party processor (Stripe) and not stored by us.
  • Usage Data: Interaction logs, session details, and performance metrics to improve service reliability.
  • Hardware & Network Identifiers: IP addresses, hardware serial numbers, and other identifiers to prevent unauthorized access.
  • User Communications: Emails, support tickets, and feedback submissions for customer service and operational improvements.

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties beyond what is necessary for operational security, regulatory compliance, or service provision.

3. OS Installation Storage & Retention

To enhance user experience, Modern Internal securely stores an ISO image of your OS installation upon subscription expiration. This image is retained for one year, allowing you to restore your setup if you choose to return. After this period, the ISO image is permanently deleted. You may request immediate deletion at any time by contacting us.

We take precautions to secure stored OS images, and access is strictly limited to authorized personnel. However, you remain responsible for ensuring your data complies with legal and ethical guidelines.

4. Payment Processing

All payment transactions are handled through Stripe, a trusted third-party payment processor. Modern Internal does not directly process, store, or have access to your payment details. Stripe's security protocols ensure compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), offering a high level of payment security.

5. Data Storage on Our Hardware

Any data within your OS installation remains on our physical hardware located in our secure warehouse. Users are responsible for managing their data and ensuring compliance with our Terms of Use. Modern Internal does not monitor or access your OS contents unless required for security, legal compliance, or system maintenance.

6. Security Measures

Modern Internal implements robust security measures to safeguard user data, including:

  • Access Controls: Restricted access to data storage and administrative systems.
  • Network Protection: Firewalls and intrusion detection systems to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Regular Audits: Periodic security audits to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): Enhanced account security measures for authorized users.

Despite these measures, no system is completely immune to security threats. Users are encouraged to use strong passwords and enable additional security measures where applicable.

7. Hardware & Network Identification

To ensure security and prevent unauthorized access, our software collects and processes certain hardware identifiers, including:

  • IP addresses for session tracking and fraud prevention.
  • Hardware serial numbers for device authentication and account security.
  • Geolocation Data: Used for security and fraud detection to prevent unauthorized access from unusual locations.

This data is used strictly for identification, security, and service improvement purposes. We do not share it with third parties unless legally required.

8. Data Retention & Deletion Requests

You have the right to request the permanent deletion of your personal data at any time. We will honor such requests unless:

  • You have violated our Terms of Use (e.g., engaged in unlawful activities).
  • The data is required to comply with legal obligations.
  • The data is necessary for security investigations or fraud prevention.

To request data deletion, please contact us.
